The Dickeyville Grotto is that this superb shrine constructed by Father Mathtias, simply sitting in the course of a small city known as, Dickeyville, Wi. A Little History
- The Dickeyville Grotto and Shrines erected within the Village of Dickeyville, Wisconsin on Holy Ghost Parish grounds situated at 305 W Main Street.
- This shrine is the work of Father Matthias Wernerus, a Catholic Priest, Pastor of the Parish from 1918 to 1931.
- Father Matthias in stone, constructed from 1925-1930, is devoted to the unity of two nice American ideals-love of God and love of Country.
- Father Matthais is buried within the cemetary proper in again of this shrine he constructed.
The additional attraction to visiting this cemetary is that that is hooked up to the Dickeyville Grotto. A shrine made by Father Matthias Wernerus, a Catholic Priest, Pastor of the Parish from 1918 to 1931. It is handmade out of stones, shells, glass and lots of superior trinkets like outdated china.
